Ryan McClellan's 30 foot 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter buzzer helped lift the Worth County Junior High boys over South Nodaway and raise their record to 5-3 on the year. Worth County would go on to win 28-18 over the Longhorns in Thursday night's encounter.
Worth County led by as much as 12-3 on a Cade Allee 3-pointer early in the second quarter before South Nodaway started answering from downtown and cutting it to 15-12 at the break. They tied it at 15 before Drake Kinsella scored off a Ryan McClellan steal and Cade Allee cut inside to put Worth County back up 19-15 after three.
Cade Allee, playing his best game of the year, wanted the ball in the fourth quarter and Worth County gave it to him early and he hit from the high post and then hit another outside shot with a hand in his face. Ryan McClellan added a baseline shot to put the game out of reach for Worth County at 25-15. Drake Kinsella and Cade Allee shared scoring honors with 10 each and Ryan McClellan followed with 8.
The girls fell 29-15 to South Nodaway as they struggled against South Nodaway's zone press. Sidney Troutwine had 6 points while Grace Schottel had 5. Quinci Schottel and Payton Adwell had 2 each.
