County Commission Minutes for April 25th, 2011

Present: Presiding Commissioner, Ted Findley, East commissioner, Rob Ruckman, West commissioner, Dennis Gabbert, Treasurer, Linda Brown, County Clerk, Roberta Owens.

1. Commissioner Findley called the meeting to order at 9:08 am

2. Commissioner Gabbert motion to approve Minutes and Agenda. Commissioner Ruckman seconded. Motion approved.

3. Motion by Ruckman to approve the bills. Gabbert seconded. Motion carried.

4. Commissioner Ruckman reported gas prices from the MFA are $3.659 for gas, and $3.999 for diesel.

5. Treasurer Linda Brown presented the financial report and weekly balance sheet. She reported on the CD pricing. The Commissioners advised her to check other banks in the area for pricing on CDs.

6. Billy Bob Breeden and Steve from Windstream came to discuss running the telephone lines underground. They reached an agreement to run the line from the pole north of the courthouse underground up to a box on the east side of the courthouse.

7. The commissioners discussed the repair of the South roof of the porch. Gabbert made a motion to hire Earl Schrock to do the repairs on the drains, and the roof of the south porch roof. Ruckman seconded. Motion carried.

8. Jim Fletchall, Road and Bridge Superviser report

· New Hope Bridge on CR 172 is almost complete.

· Les Lynch purchased a tube through the County.

· The commissioners will refigure the rock amount on CR 71 for the 100% bypass match.

· Fletchall thinks that CR 180 needs to be added to the Conservation Road match program. Clerk Owens will check into it.

· Fletchall requested the purchase of a parts cleaner, the Commissioners advised him to do some pricing.

9. Motion by Gabbert to adjourn for lunch at 12:15. Ruckman seconded. Motion carried.

Commissioner Findley brought the afternoon session of the meeting to order at 1:15.

10. The Commissioners comprised a list of landowners who have excessive brush that needs to be taken care of. Clerk Owens will send a brush letter, a satellite image of the area, and the County’s Brush Ordinance to each individual.

11. Commissioner Gabbert left at 2:20.

12. Debbie Miller, a resident of Denver came by to discuss a sewer problem. She thinks maybe the line was blocked when someone worked on the streets in Denver last year. Commissioner Ruckman advised her to speak to City Alderman, Lowell Houts, first then let them know what she found out.

13. Ruckman made a motion to adjourn at 2:54. Findley seconded. Motion carried.
