On Tuesday, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the Worth County Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. The plan will be in effect until March 4th, 2027.
The Northwest Missouri Regional Council conducted meetings with city and county officials, emergency management agencies, school leaders, stakeholders, and other interested individuals to update the plan and reduce the negative impacts of natural hazards in the future. With an approved plan, Worth County and its participating jurisdictions will be eligible state hazardous mitigation grant funding opportunities.
To view the plan, visit the Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments website or contact Amy Dowis at amy@nwmorcog.org.
