William Dean Fleetwood was born October 19, 1932 in Ozark County, Missouri to William Isaac and Lola May (Rackley) Fleetwood. He passed away on October 12, 2020 at the age of 87, just one week short of his 88th birthday.
Bill was a grave digger for many counties in Southwest Iowa and Northwest Missouri for many years. He dug graves all by hand which you sure don’t see today.
In his spare time Bill enjoyed hunting. He had forgotten more about hunting and dogs than most people learn in a lifetime. He taught many kids to ride, hunt, skin and shoot.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson Bobbie Lee Fleetwood Jr. (BJ).
Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his sons: Gary Fleetwood of Blockton, Iowa and Bob Fleetwood of Grant City, Missouri; daughter: Nancy Lyle of Grant City, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, special friend Virginia Robison and many friends.
Bill was a good humble man with a simple outlook on life. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
A private family service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 in Athelstan Cemetery in Athelstan, Iowa.
