GRC Announces Changes for Wrestling, Basketball

Two changes in the GRC sports calendar are announced from the GRC superintendents meeting held on Oct. 14:

1. The GRC Wrestling Tournament scheduled for Jan. 30, 2021 has been canceled due to health concerns. A schedule change is being developed in which all conference schools will wrestle one another in a dual meet format over the span of four Saturdays in December and January, if feasible. An all-conference wrestling team will be chosen at the end of the conference season at a date and place to be announced.  The conference champion will be decided on the basis of dual meet records.

2.  The GRC Basketball Showcase scheduled for Feb. 13, 2021 at Milan has also been canceled due to health concerns. Crossover games will be held on that date at the eastern division sites and times will be staggered to allow travel so that fans of western division boys and girls teams scheduled at two different sites will have time to travel and attend both games.  Times have been tentatively set at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. although those times may be adjusted if a school's boys and girls team is scheduled to play at the same site.

The intention of the conference is to return to both the traditional GRC Wrestling Tournament and GRC Basketball Showcase in 2021-22.
