Two Arrested Near Clearmont on Meth Charges

While you slept.  On August 8, 2020, Nodaway County Deputies were working an investigation involving distribution of illegal drugs in cooperation with Maryville Police and Iowa authorities.  Deputies intercepted a car driven by a 32-year-old male and occupied by another male.  K-9 Bolt alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the car that was north of Clearmont.  During the subsequent search, deputies discovered that the individuals were armed.  Approximately 3.43 ounces of a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was found.  It was intended for distribution locally.  

Prosecuting Attorney Baird charged James L Grantham, age 32, of Kearney, MO with Delivery of Controlled Substance, a class C Felony and Unlawful use of a Weapon, possessing a weapon and a felony-controlled substance, a class E Felony.  Levi Wear, who did not disclose his address, was charged with Possession of a Controlled substance, a Class D felony.
