Dixie Rose Blessing, 87, Bethany, MO passed away, Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at a Lamoni Specialty Care, Lamoni, Iowa.
Dixie was born on January 28, 1933, the daughter of Olan and Hattie (Heimbaugh) Hogan.
On May 31, 1951, she married Junior C. Blessing. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2001.
Dixie loved gardening, cooking and sharing those gifts and always had a special place in her heart for children and animals. She worked for White’s Auto Supply, Central Programs Inc. and Roberson Funeral Home. She and Junior enjoyed remodeling homes and with the many moves she made every house a home.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Billy Wayne Hogan, Jack Dalton and Melvin Hogan.
Dixie was a member of the First Christian Church of Bethany, served on the American Red Cross Board and a member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include her daughters, Deidra (Randy) Parman, Kansas City, MO and Sherry (Charlie) Henson, Eagleville, MO; grandchildren, Cadence (Chad) Townsend, C J (Sarah) Henson and Delaney Parman and five great-grandchildren.
A special thank you goes to the Staff at Lamoni Specialty Care…so many were special to Dixie and “made a house a home”.
Private Graveside Services will be held in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO at a later date under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. There is no visitation.
