Wreck Near Hopkins Injures Iowa Man

A wreck near Hopkins injured a Gravity (IA) man Friday at around noon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 1999 Pontiac Montana driven by Robert Perdew (83) of Gravity was westbound on 148 and traveled off the right shoulder. The vehicle overcorrected and returned to the roadway. Perdew lost control again and went off the right shoulder again. This time, it traveled off the right shoulder, struck a ditch, and overturned, coming to rest on the driver’s side off the right side of the roadway. Perdew received moderate injuries and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The vehicle was totaled.
