Doris, the daughter of Cleo Jackson and Dollie Bea (Groce) Smith was born October 20, 1934 in Denver, Missouri. Doris graduated from Grant City High School.
On November 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Paul G. Clemmons. To this union eleven children were born. Paul preceded her in death January 14, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, great-granddaughter, Dacey De Whitmire, brothers, E.C. and Cleo “Doc” Smith and her sister, Phyllis Law.
She was a homemaker and worked in the housekeeping department of the Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany for over 10 years. Doris was a member of the Dorsey Christian Church.
Survivors: children, Billy, Teddy, Nancy (Cecil) Booher, Judy (Richie) Morgan, Ronnie, Donnie, JoAnn, Linda (Charlie) Updegraff, Lisa, Angel (Ken) Grove, Archie (Jeremy) Fenimore; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brother, R. Joe (Nancy) Smith; nieces, nephews, close friends, Pattie Miller, Elnora Smith.
Funeral Service were held 10:00 AM Friday, December 14 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Miller Cemetery, Denver, Missouri. The family received friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Doris Clemmons Memorial Fund in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
