Seven Panthers Named to All-State Squad

Seven Pattonsburg Panthers were named to the All-State Squad following their best season ever.
Steven Willhite won the passing title, throwing for 4,045 yards and rushing for 385 more as the Panther squad rewrote the record book for this year’s 10-2 squad. He threw for 70 touchdowns and rushed for 12 more. He was named to the first team squad.

Cameron Jones caught 59 passes for 1,425 yards and 24 touchdowns. Both Jones and Willhite will return for Pattonsburg next year, making them one of the teams to beat. He was named to both the first team offensive and defensive squads. On defense, he had 8 picks and 78 tackles for the Panthers.
Named to the second team all-state squad were Trevor Ireland and Blake Hulett. Ireland had 46 catches for 772 yards and 19 touchdowns. Blake Hulett anchored the offensive line as he helped protect Willhite.

Lane Huitt anchored the defensive end slot for Pattonsburg and was named to the second team squad. He had four sacks and 64 tackles for the Panthers. He will graduate, but Carter Crone was named as well, as a linebacker. He got better as the season progressed, turning into a force at linebacker and consistently getting double figures in tackles by the end of the season. Crone had 16 tackles against Albany.
