Shamrock Girls Post Strong Third Quarter to Down Redbirds

North Harrison went into halftime knotted 11-11 with Winston, but used a strong third quarter to get past the Redbirds. They pitched a 10-0 shutout in the period and held their own in the fourth quarter to win 33-21 Thursday.

North Harrison overcame 20 turnovers as Emma Craig got another double double with 16 points and 10 boards. Mason Cracraft and Addie Slaughter had 6 each, Kami Gibson 3, and Camden Castleberry 2. Castleberry saw her first action since getting injured during the first game of the season (ankle).
The Shamrocks shot 39% from the field and were 11 for 21 from the free throw line.

Emma Craig had 10 boards, Kami Gibson 9, Olivia Babinski and Addie Slaughter 6 each, Mason Cracraft 3, Rainey Fordyce and Camden Castleberry 2 each, and Deva Wallace and Ashlynn Gilpatrick had 1 each. Rainey Fordyce had 2 assists, while Mason Cracraft and Emma Craig had 1. Emma Craig had 4 steals. Emma Craig had 2 blocks and Mason Cracraft 1.

The boys did not fare so well as they lost to the powerhouse Winston Redbird team 73-26. Winston is undefeated this year, and has not been seriously challenged since the first game of the year.
