Foul Ball Goes Directly Into Bird’s Nest

“Is there a monkey up there,” asked Shamrock outfielder Hunter Stevens during the JV game between North Harrison and Tri-County after the varsity game was over. It turned out that Addie Slaughter hit a foul ball that landed directly into a bird’s nest in the tree behind the left field fence, a sight that turned a lot of heads.

There was plenty of softball that was played as well as North Harrison picked up a 7-5 win in the JV portion. Rainey Fordyce caught a screamer that she turned into a double play and made another running catch behind second; normally the center fielder, she played second in the JV game. Kylie Pottorff, competing for time in the outfield, caught a screamer that looked headed for extra bases. Rainey, who earned time in center with her glove, showed some speed as she escaped a rundown to score.
