The Maryville Daily Forum of July 19th reported that the Northwest All-Stars won a state title, running the table at state to do so. Their final game was a 19-0 win over Jefferson City, showing that the balance of power is still in the area. Many of the players played on the Northeast Nodaway baseball team of last spring, which went 13-0 and set a school record in wins before falling to state third place finisher Green City in the finals.
Playing from NEN were Spencer Gray, Levi Boulting, Ben Boswell, Reed McIntyre, Austin Welch, and Ethan Adwell, who pitched in the title game. They were coached by Shane Adwell. They started off by beating Jefferson City 11-3, and then beat Hillsboro 19-0.
