Worth County R-III Hires Cook, Bus Drivers, and Paraprofessional

The Worth County School Board hired three personnel at its regular Board of Education Meeting Thursday. Previously, Darin Drury had tendered his resignation as Paraprofessional and Bus Driver. However, the board hired him back Thursday. The board also hired Peggy Richardson as a substitute cook and James O’Connor as a substitute bus driver; the latter two were contingent on approved background checks. All three votes were unanimous.

The board approved the Code of Ethics for the 2018-2019 School Year.

The board gave approval for various services for the upcoming school year. The board awarded the bid for trash service to Porter Trash for one eight yard wide bin, two two yard bins, and an additional two yard bin during ball season. Cost will be $510 a month during ball season and $455 a month outside the season.

The board awarded the pest control bid to Green Valley out of Creston (IA) for $529 per year. This includes insect management, spraying, rodent control, and labor. This does not include bed bugs, fleas, termites, and wildlife.

The board awarded the milk bid to Hiland. The bid will include 1%, chocolate, skim, strawberry milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, cottage cheese, sour cream, and yogurt. The board awarded the bread bid to Hy-Vee of Grant City.

The next board meeting will be held in August. At that time, the board will set the tax levy.
