A Creston man was lifeflighted after a head-on collision on Route 2 Tuesday afternoon, July 24th at around 4:30 pm at the 87 mile marker in Ringgold County. The Iowa State Highway Patrol reports that a 2008 Nissan driven by Chase Shiltz (20) of Creston was westbound and a 1999 Dodge Ram driven by Ivan Stoltzfus (59) of Leon was eastbound. The first vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the second vehicle. Shiltz received serious injuries and was lifeflighted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Stoltzfus was not injured. Shiltz was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
