Who will Kiss the Pig at the Sheridan Rodeo?

The Sheridan Rodeo will be highlighted this year by a pig kissing contest. Four contestants have been nominated to kiss the pig this year. They are Jana Findley, Karla Hawk, Justin Rush, and Jeff Blaine. People can vote for who they want to kiss the pig by donating to one of the jars at Snakebite Tavern. On June 24th, the money will be counted and the winner announced at the Sheridan Rodeo.

The Sheridan Rodeo will be held at 7:30 nightly Friday and Saturday nights at the Sheridan Rodeo Arena. Admission will be $10 for adults, $5 for 12 and under, and free for children five and under. There will be nine championship events; Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Bull Riding, and Over 40 Calf Roping. Rodeo kozies are on sale for $3 or two for $5; contact any Sheridan CBC member.

During both intermissions, there will be a box auction, a 50/50 drawing, and, for Saturday night only, the Kiss the Pig winner will be announced.

On both nights, Snakebite will offer live music after the Rodeo from 9 pm to 1 am each night.
The Rodeo will be held in conjunction with Old Defiance Days, which will run from June 22nd to 25th. New this year will be the Old Defiance Queen Contest. It and the Little Mr. & Mrs. Defiance Contest will be held on Thursday, June 22nd starting at 6:30.

The main event for Defiance Days will be the flag raising; State Representative Allen Andrews will raise the flag at 9 am Saturday. That will be followed by the Parade at 10:30.
