Jeanne A. Vorhies was born May 9, 1955 in Fairfax, Missouri to Jesse Eugene Everhart, Sr. and Lois Lavonne (Carpenter) Everhart. She grew up in the Fairfax, Missouri area attending schools and graduated from North Nodaway High School, Hopkins Missouri in 1973. Jeanne was united in marriage May 20, 1978 in New Market, Iowa to Larry Vorhies. They made their home and raised their family on a farm near New Market, Iowa.
While raising her family, Jeanne worked as a production worker for NSK Corporation for thirty four years. Jeanne came from a large family and family was her top priority. She enjoyed attending and supporting the activities of her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and would always have enough food to feed an army. Jeanne also enjoyed ceramics, gardening, canning and sewing. Each grandchild was given a blanket made by Jeanne.
Preceding Jeanne in death were her parents; twin brothers, Ronnie Hugene Everhart and Donnie Eugene Everhart; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edna and Howard Vorhies; brother-in-law, Stan Carlson.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty nine years, Larry Vorhies of New Market, Iowa; children, Kristi Erritt and husband Brian of Sac City, Iowa, Mike Vorhies and wife Valerie of Stanton, Iowa, Mat Vorhies and wife Amanda of New Market, Iowa, Tim Vorhies and wife Laura of Great Falls, Montana, Jessie Weinreich and husband C.J. of New Market, Iowa, Shalae Judd and husband Brett of New Market, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan Steinkamp, Taylor Steinkamp (Mindy), Macy Steinkamp (Jason), Kaitlin Steinkamp, Christian Steinkamp, Sophie Steinkamp, Carter Erritt, Tyler Vorhies, Nicole Vorhies, Eli Vorhies, Hayden Vorhies, Chase Vorhies, Bryan Vorhies, Logan Vorhies, Addyson Weinreich, Macks Weinreich, Brynna Weinreich, Micoy Judd; great grandchildren, Henley Steinkamp and Cole Steinkamp; brothers, Jess Everhart, Jr. (Linda) of Hopkins, Missouri and Jerald Everhart (Corey) of Hopkins, Missouri; sisters, Julie Markley (Chris) of Hopkins, Missouri and Janet Hoover (Al) of Pickering, Missouri; sister-in-law, Karen Carlson of Kent, Iowa; brother-in-law, Allen Vorhies (Nan) of Arvada, Colorado; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
