Midwest Storm Cheer Wins Indianapolis Competition

Northeast Nodaway student Morgan Porter and her Midwest Storm Cheer squad won the Jamfest competition in Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. This was their first win this year after having come close in their other two competitions. They were judged in stunts, pyramids, choreography, as well as a subjective scale. Points were deducted for bobbles, falls, and safety infractions. "We've been through so much this beginning year and we finally got what we deserved," posted Porter on her Facebook page following the win. They came to Indianapolis believing in themselves and got the win as a result. Porter is a junior at Northeast Nodaway High School. She is the daughter of Dennis Porter of Ravenwood.
