Hundley Whaley to Host Cover Crop Meeting

The Hundley Whaley Research Center will host a cover crop meeting Tuesday, April 2nd from 1-3PM with the University of Missouri Extension.  Bruce Burdick, Superintendent of the Hundley-Whaley Research Center will provide a tour of two cover crop research studies he is conducting.
 
Next, Heather Benedict and Wayne Flanary, Regional Agronomists, will discuss different cover crops and how to insert them into a corn and soybean rotation.
 
Many growers are using cover crops as a forage resource. Shawn Deering and Amie Schleicher, Livestock specialists, will update growers on ways to use cover crops as forages.
 
Next, Jim Crawford, Natural Resource Engineering Specialist, will discuss different methods of seeding cover crops.
 
Last, Randa Doty and Bob Kelly, Ag Business Specialists, will examine the costs and returns of cover crops.
