From one extreme to another for my body to adjust to. Many are enjoying the cooler temps. Students may be able to concentrate better and no doubt made it easier to run football practice. I’ve always preferred spring and summer where new life takes shape; fall reminds me winter is near and green dies out. Oh, guess that has already happened with the heat already!
I was saddened to hear of one man’s corn harvested only three bushels to the acre. It will be a test of faith for many farmers. We need to keep them in prayer.
Wednesday, 6 p.m., we congregated and shared our concerns and prayers. We sang praises for the raindrops God gifted us with. We do wish HE was more generous. But He is all-sufficient.
Tim was at the pulpit continuing the series, “What we believe.” We believe in the guidance of scripture. God left us a manual to live by of history from 4000 years ago. May we use the Bible to guide us to do His will. There must be a great reason why it’s survived this long; we need it! August 29th at 12:30, another discussion will be held at the Grant City United Methodist Church.
September 30th will be All-Parish Gathering at the Grant City Methodist Church. Currently, they are organizing choir singers from all locations. If you’d like to participate, contacts are Marlin Kinman (Ravenwood), Judy Trullinger (Grant City and Denver), Pat Swaney (Hopkins and Pickering), and Glenda Wyer (Sheridan). Rehearsals will be 4 p.m. Sundays September 9th at Sheridan, September 16th at Ravenwood, September 23rd at Hopkins/Pickering, and one hour before service at Grant City Sunday, September 30th. The theme is about giving thanks. May God nudge your heart to lift your voice and join them.
God bless you this week as we carry the Word of God in our hearts and share with others. That is doing God’s work. See you in church!
