Camdain Frisch Bashes Three Hits; Reece Gray Fans 10 in Bluejay Victory

Northeast Nodaway's baseball team played a forgettable game against Rock Port, falling 18-1 to the conference powerhouse of the 275. "Our pride takes a big hit with games like this," said coach Cody Green. Asked what changed between the Rock Port and Stewartsville/Osborn game, Green said, "We learned we can't mess around with anyone. You can't go half-hearted on anything." A totally different team invaded OSHS and came away with a 13-0 win Thursday.

For six innings, the game was much closer than the final score. The Bluejays plated a run to make it 1-0 in the first, and the game was still 3-0 in the sixth after Gaige Bodle showed a newfound ability to bunt and brought in a run. Green said the Bluejays were hitting the ball well, but right at people. Finally, the dam broke in the seventh and the Bluejays pushed across 10 runs to get the win and make the long bus ride home worthwhile.

Camdain Frisch had three hits for the Bluejays and drive in three runs. Brayden Stevens had two hits. Reece Gray pitched 5 2/3 innings and struck out 10 Wildcards. Gaige Bodle came on in relief and completed the shutout for the Bluejays.
