James O’Riley, 6 Years Old, Passed Away in Hopkins in 1951

James O’Riley, just six years old, passed away on December 29th, 1951 in Hopkins according to the January 3rd, 1952 Hopkins Journal. He died of Bright’s Disease, a kidney infection.

O’Riley came down sick in November 30th, 1951 and was hospitalized. He got better and was sent home, but then his health deteriorated again on Christmas. 

A rosary was said on December 31st and a requiem high mass was said on January 1st at 9 am at St. Patrick’s Church in Maryville. The Rev. R.E. Graham officiated. A children’s choir performed. 

He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Philip O’Riley. Pallbearers were William O’Riley, Paul O’Riley, Wilson Miller, and Bill Miller.

Flowers were provided by Miss Lorayne Reed, Mrs. Paul O’Riley, Mrs. Billy Joe Miller, Mrs. Leo Growney, Mrs. Wilson Miller, Mrs. John Miller, and Mrs. Lee Bantz.
