Courthouse News for June 8th, 2022

On May 31st, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Shawn Dierenfeldt (45) of Albany alleging Rape (Felony) and Sodomy (Felony). Bond was denied.

On June 1st, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against James Sealey (41) of King City alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Property Damage (Felony).  Bond was set at $1,000 cash or corporate surety, posted by the defendant.

On June 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2014 Ford Edge driven by Kaleigh Armfield (27) of Stanberry and a 2020 Chevy 3500 driven by William Wiederholt (65) of Stanberry were westbound on Route 136 two miles east of Stanberry at around 12:50 pm. The Chevy slowed to turn north into a private drive. The Ford struck the towed unit of the Chevy and came to rest in the westbound lane, blocking traffic. Armfield received moderate injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Albany. Wiederholt was not injured.

On June 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Joshua Walker (25) of Diberville (MS) alleging Possession of Controlled Substance, Speeding, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana. 

On June 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Christopher Thomas (20) of Eagleville alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident) and No Insurance.

On June 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Stephanie Torres (28) of Maryville alleging DWI and Failure to Register. 

On June 2nd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Chandler Marriott (23) of Maryville alleging DWI and Speeding (20-25 mph over). 

Kale Briner, 37, of Blockton was arrested on June 2, 2022 in the 200 block of 3rd Street in Athelstan by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. Briner was arrested on a Taylor County warrant for felon in possession of a firearm and eluding. Briner also has active warrants from Nodaway and Worth Counties in Missouri. Briner is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $10,000 bond. The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office assisted the Taylor County Sheriff's Office with the arrest.

On June 4th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ryan Eckstein (37) of Maryville in Gentry County on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony) and Speeding. In addition, the Patrol arrested Lisa Coots (36) of Maryville on charges of Drug Trafficking (Felony, Methamphetamine), Possession of Synthetic Narcotics (Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Charges against both defendants were filed the next day by Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones. 

On June 5th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Tryson Whitt (25) of Cameron on charges of Resisting Arrest and No License Plate Lamp. Bond was set at $2,000, cash only. Northwest Mo Info reports that the charges arose after the defendant allegedly failed to stop after an officer attempted a traffic stop on Highway 69. Officers from the Cameron Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit and the defendant was stopped. The defendant also faces a Probation Violation from October 2021 in Caldwell County. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On June 6th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Zach Copeland (27) of Graham alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On June 7th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Brian Cuchetti (30) of Albany alleging Driving While Revoked (Felony), No Plates, and No Insurance. Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.

On June 7th, a motorist had a flat tire on I-35 in Harrison County. An officer directed traffic while they were waiting for the towing company.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
