Courthouse News for June 1st, 2022

On May 23rd, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department arrested Frankie Cunningham III (27) of Corning on a Ringgold County Warrant (Harassment). Bond was set at $2,000, posted by the defendant.

On May 24th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Michael Lynch (69) of Woodbury (MN) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On May 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Gary Keaffaber (59) of Macy (IN) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On May 25th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Laci Smith (29) of Newton (IA) in Harrison County on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Charges were filed the following day by Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer.

On May 25th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Tyler Child (34) of Newton (IA) in Harrison County on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Speeding. Charges were filed the next day by Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer. Bond was set at $7,500, cash or corporate surety.

On May 25th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested William Coleman (48) of Sully (IA) in Nodaway County on charges of DWI, Careless & Imprudent Driving, Failure to Place Vehicle Not in Motion as Close as Possible to Right End of Road, and No Insurance.

On May 25th, an Allendale woman reported that four black cows with white faces have gotten loose in The Nation for a week and their owner cannot be located.

On May 26th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Brandon Rairden (30) of Bethany alleging Burglary (Felony).

On May 26th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Todd McGinley (52) of Fort Gibson (OK) alleging Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, DWI, Speeding (26+ mph over), and Excess Vision Reducing Material on Vehicle.

On May 27th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Doman Vanessen (23) of Norwalk (IA) on a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $300.

On May 27th, a Ravenwood woman reported that dogs were running loose in Ravenwood and that one trampled her garden.

On May 27th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Andrew Bauer (32) of Gallatin alleging Domestic Assault (Felony), Armed Criminal Action (Felony), Resisting Arrest (Felony), and Assault. Bond was denied. Northwest Mo Info reports that the charges arose after the defendant allegedly sprayed his brother with lighter fluid and attempted to set him on fire. The brother was able to get away and call 911. 

On May 27th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested James Cates (29) of Fort Worth (TX) in Harrison County on a charge of Speeding and a Fort Worth (TX) Warrant for Larceny.

On May 27th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Seth Drawbaugh (25) of Blythedale in Harrison County on charges of DWI (Felony), No Valid License, and No Seat Belt.

On May 27th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Colton Orcutt (26) of Bethany in Harrison County on charges of DWI and Failure to Signal.

On May 27th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Lisa Blake (27) of New Market on a charge of Driving While Suspended and an active Fremont County (IA) Warrant.

On May 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Michael Gaa (44) of Omaha in Nodaway County on charges of DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway (Accident). The Patrol reports that the defendant was driving a 2002 Polaris ATV westbound on 280th Street west of Fortune in Nodaway County 5 miles east of Skidmore when he lost control, went off the north side, and overturned; Gaa was ejected from his vehicle. He received moderate injuries and was lifeflighted to Mosaic in St. Joseph.

On May 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Tammy Ballinger (50) of Belton (MO in Nodaway County on charges of DWI, Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, and No Seat Belt.

On May 31st, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested David Bouley (40) of Fairfax on charges of No Plates and Driving While Suspended.

On May 31st, KQ2 reported that a St. Joseph police officer and his wife were indicted by a federal grand jury for a $99,000 wire fraud scheme in which they allegedly used debit cards from a local lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, where they served as officers, for spending on personal items.

On May 31st, a Ravenwood woman reported that she had gotten 13 spam calls.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
