The January 3rd, 1952 Hopkins Journal reported that C.E. (Charles) Florea, one of Gaynor’s finest, passed away at the age of 85 on December 28th, 1951 at St. Francis Hospital.
He was survived by his wife, son Everett, grandson Noble Florea, brother Sam Florea of Gaynor, sister Mrs. Meta Stone of Sheridan, and great-grandchildren Gael and Rollie Florea of Hopkins.
Mrs. Paul Cardle, a correspondent for the Hopkins Journal, wrote, “The passing of Charles Florea marks the passing of another Gaynor resident for many years. He was an active member of the Gaynor Christian Church, a farmer, stockman, and during the threshing age, he and his son threshed throughout the country side as he had a wide acquaintance outside his neighborhood.”
