Tiffany Bliley was promoted to Head Girls Basketball Coach for the 2020-2021 school year by the Worth County School Board at their regular meeting on May 21st. She replaces Les New, who resigned. New will continue to coach the boys basketball team. Bliley will continue to coach the girls softball team. The vote was unanimous.
In other action, the board approved the fuel contract with MFA Oil in Sheridan for 1,200 gallons of unleaded fuel for $1,653.24 and 9,000 gallons of diesel for $14,756.40 from June 2020 to April 2021. That vote was unanimous.
Elementary Principal Chuck Borey reported that they were starting a plan for Elementary changes for social distancing. Plans are being made in the event of a future closure. K-2 will be a little online, but mainly packet work, while grades 3-6 will be computer based learning. Teachers are getting trained and will be working on this when they report back in August.
The school will get $68,293 in CARES Act funding. The district can cover costs back to March 13th and must spend them by September 30th, 2022.
