A Tarkio man was killed and a woman lifeflighted after a wreck near Maryville Wednesday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2004 Mercury Monterey driven by Elizabeth Merriett (31) of Tarkio was traveling eastbound on Route 46 three miles west of Maryville at around 1:45 pm. The vehicle traveled across the center line, over the westbound lane, and off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and overturned multiple times, causing Neil Minor (37), a passenger, to be ejected. Minor was killed in the crash, while Merriett was life flighted to KU Medical Center.
