Obituary -- Tracy Constant 1962-2020

Tracy Van Constant was born March 14, 1962 in Ringgold County, Iowa to Russell and Maxine (Allison) Constant. He passed away on May 14, 2020 at his home at the age of 58.

Tracy grew up on the family farm located near Sheridan, Missouri on the West Fork Grand River. He had many adventures growing up on the farm with his near in age nieces and nephew and his many boyhood friends. He began to take over the farming at a young age when his father retired.

Tracy attended school in Sheridan from kindergarten through 8th grade. When the Sheridan school was closed, he attended and graduated from Worth County High School in 1980. He married Lisa Stephens on April 17, 1981 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Tracy served on the Sheridan Fire Department for many years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry Constant, and a niece, Kelsey Stephens.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of the home, son Jeffery Eugene Constant (Laura) and their children, Blayne Russell, Iliya Daylin, Thayer Burl, Hayes Lincoln, and Mavryk Gunner. Daughter, Kimberly Sue Cotner (Dustin) and their children, Bryson James and Zoe Breann. Sisters, Tamara Sue Inglish (John) and Tara Jan Young. In Laws, Donald and Sue Stephens; Kenneth Stephens (Cindy), Kathy Poore, Genevieve Malone (David), and Donald “Dusty” Stephens, Jr. (Robyne). Close to his heart nieces, Candance Martin (Rodney), Chandra King (Scott), Terry Constant Jr. (Connie), Connie Shelley (Loren Gaither), Christine Silvey (Kenny Simpson) and nephew Clint Larison (Angela). Also a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Tracy never met a stranger and would readily talk to anyone anywhere. He was always smiling and ready to lend a helping hand to his friends and those in need. He had a very ornery side as his nieces have often told about in their stories. He had a great love for hunting and fishing, and enjoyed every season whether it was hunting coyotes with Galen Gamel, deer with his son, son in law and Martin Maudlin, or fishing with his grandkids. He enjoyed being with his friends and spent many hours snoozing in front of the t.v. at Kenny Hughes’ shop. His infectious laughter and joy he shared with his children and grandchildren will be forever treasured. He will be greatly missed by many in the community several of whom were lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Pastor Paul Chishala and Pastor Len Green will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Isadora Cemetery at a later date.
