Junior High Tiger Boys Run Away With Albany Meet

Worth County’s junior high boys ran away with the Albany meet, while the girls were fifth Thursday.
The girls field was much different than the Early Bird, as Maysville, which didn’t enter the Early Bird, ran away with the Albany meet with 115 points. Platte Valley had 85, King City 67, Albany 60, and Worth County 49.

On the boys side, Worth County had a similar outcome to the Early Bird as they ran away with the meet with 124 team points. South Harrison had 96, King City 77.5, Albany 67, and Platte Valley 58.
For the boys, Alex Rinehart was third in the 100 with a time of 12.91. Aydan Gladstone was fourth in the 200 with a time of 28.75. Levi Cassavaugh was fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:07.45. Jace Cousatte was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:39.60. Wyatt Craven was eighth in the 1600 with a time of 6:04.30.

Worth County was 1-2 in the 100 Hurdles. Aydan Gladstone won with a time of 17.22. Jace Cousatte was second with a time of 17.51. They were over 1½ seconds ahead of everyone else. Both improved on their times from the Early Bird.

The 4x100 team of Alex Rinehart, Lucas Wake, Aydan Gladstone, and Jace Cousatte was second with a time of 52.72. The 4x200 team of Brent Harris, Josh Freed, Levi Cassavaugh, and Jackson Runde was fourth with a time of 1:58.94. The 4x400 team of Jon Galanakis, Jackson Runde, Josh Freed, and Levi Cassavaugh was third with a time of 4:37.78.

Worth County was 1-3 in the High Jump as Jace Cousatte won with a height of 5 feet. Also with 5 feet, but edged out on tiebreaks was Lucas Wake, who finished third.

Aydan Gladstone was second in the Pole Vault with a height of 8’6”. Lincoln Moore was tied for third with a vault of 7’6”.

Alex Rinehart was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’1”.

Worth County was 1-2 in the Triple Jump as Alex Rinehart won with a jump of 33’10¾” and Josh Freed was second with a jump of 32’1½”.

Jackson Runde was second in the Discus with a throw of 101’1”, while Colt Cameron was sixth with a throw of 84 feet.

For the girls, Hailey Adwell was sixth in the 200 with a time of 31.40. Adwell was also fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:13.60. Ali Brown was fifth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 21.67.

The 4x100 Relay Team of Taylor Sanders, Liz Brown, Claire McElvain, and Alison Anderson was eighth with a time of 1:06.54. The 4x200 team of Justina Wimer, ZeeAnna Gladstone, Ali Brown, and Hailey Adwell was seventh with a time of 2:16.27. The 4x400 team of Molly Miller, ZeeAnna Gladstone, Alison Anderson, and Justina Wimer was seventh with a time of 5:43.21.

Worth County was 1-2 in the Pole Vault again as Molly Miller won with a height of 5’6”. Also with 5’6” was Claire McElvain, who finished second on tiebreaks.

ZeeAnna Gladstone was eighth in the Long Jump with a leap of 12’9”. Justina Wimer was third in the Triple Jump with a leap of 27’8”. Ali Brown was fifth with a jump of 25’6¼”. Ali Brown was fifth in the Shot Put with a throw of 28’5”.
