A pickup rammed a school bus Wednesday morning at around 8:10 am, injuring six. The Iowa State Highway Patrol reports that a 2008 Ford Pickup driven by Fred Lischer (62) of Bedford was northbound on Lake Road while a school bus transporting two adults and 13 students were westbound on Route 2. The pickup pulled from the stop sign and struck the side of the school bus, causing the school bus to come to rest on its side in the south ditch. At one point, both lanes of Highway 2 were shut down that morning.
Injured were Lischer along with Garry Rankin (53) of Bedford, Jeanne Cavin (62) of Grant City, and three students.
