Obituary -- Patricia Jacobs 1959-2018

Patricia D. Jacobs, 58, of Ravenwood Missouri passed away early Wednesday morning February 22 in Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph after a long bout of illness.

Patricia was born on April 20, 1959 in Scottsboro, Alabama to Larry and Hester Clifton. She was a graduate of Pisgah High School in Pisgah Alabama. And graduated from Northeast Alabama community college with honors. She also studied at Kansas State University and Georgia Southern University. After successfully working as a paralegal in Alabama and Kansas she moved to Nodaway County where she worked in the law offices of Strong and Strong and the Ross Law Office. In addition she served as the client advocate at the Women’s and Children’s Center where she was active in establishing a rape crisis coalition.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Larry and Hester Clifton and by her brother Kenneth Clifton.

On June 5, 1999 Patricia and John Jacobs were married. He survives at their home in Ravenwood. She is also survived by her children, Kyle Ponder (Katie Crum) here in Maryville and her daughter Angie Yates of Stevenson, Alabama. She has 3 grandchildren, Dante Ponder here in Maryville and Laliana Renee and Kenneth Aiden Cathcart who live in Alabama with their mother; her brother Vernon Clifton of Rainsville Alabama and three nieces.

Patricia has been cremated under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. The family will gather with friends at the home of Patricia and John Jacobs the evening of Tuesday March 6 from 4pm to 8pm to celebrate the life of Patricia Jacobs. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Jacobs family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro, Alabama.

Should you wish to contribute, a fund will be set up that will be used to provide the immediate needs for individuals and families in the area, so far as it will go. Otherwise if you wish a contribution to your favorite charity would be appropriate. The thought of flowers is generous but unnecessary.
