Presiding Commissioner, Recorder of Deeds See Competitive Races

The Presiding Commissioner’s Race and the Recorder of Deeds Race has drawn competitive races. Barb Foland has filed for reelection as a Democrat for Recorder of Deeds. She will be opposed this time by Megan Brown on the Republican side.

Four people have filed for the Presiding Commissioner seat so far. Tank Parman is the lone Democrat to file for the position. Republicans Jubal Summers, Peyton Whittington, and Dan Findley have filed on the Republican side. Incumbent Ted Findley has told the Express he will not seek reelection.

Incumbents Jana Findley (Circuit Clerk), Linda Brown (Treasurer), Joel Miller (Associate Circuit Judge), Julie Tracy (Collector), and Roberta Owens (County Clerk) have all filed for reelection. As of Monday morning, none of them had opposition. The deadline for filing for the August primary is March 27th.

In the State Representative Race for District 1, Incumbent Allen Andrews has filed for reelection. As of Monday afternoon, nobody else had filed. In the State Senate District 12 Race, Incumbent Dan Hegeman has filed for reelection with no opposition as of Monday afternoon. Both are Republicans. In the State Representative Race for District 2, which includes Eagleville, Hatfield, and Blythedale, incumbent Republican J. Eggleston has filed for reelection and has drawn opposition from GOP challenger Amy Babcock.

In Circuit 4, which includes Worth and Nodaway Counties, incumbent Republican Judge Roger Prokes has filed for reelection and is the lone person to do so as of Monday afternoon.
