Anne Schieber won the 800 for the Northeast Nodaway girls and the boys got their highest finish in recent memory, getting fourth at the Stanberry Invitational with 48 points. The girls were seventh with 39 points.
For the girls, Lauren McIntyre was sixth in the 100 with a time of 14.97. Jill Boswell was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:08.84. The highlight of the day was Anne Schieber winning the 800 with a time of 2:40.70; she is the fastest Bluejay athlete in the 800 on the girls side since Michelle Schulte, who won several races in that event her sophomore year in 2010. Ruby Wilmes was fourth with a time of 2:54.70.
The 4x200 team of Jill Boswell, Lauren McIntyre, Anne Schieber, and Ruby Wilmes was second with a time of 2:04.29. Everyone but Schieber returns for next year, which means the Bluejays will contend in this event for the next few years. Jill Boswell was third in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.01 meters, while Lauren McIntyre was sixth with a jump of 3.68 meters. Dalanie Auffert was sixth in the Discus with a throw of 22.01 meters. Angela Standiford was fourth in the Javelin with a throw of 21.85 meters.
For the boys, Preston Hillyard was sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:15.24. Colton Swalley was fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:28.51. Kodie Meyer was third in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 52.68.
The 4x200 team of Landen Allen, Dawson Vore, Preston Hillyard, and Kodie Meyer was third with a time of 1:46.81. The 4x400 team of Ben Boswell, Levi Germann, Colton Swalley, and Dawson Vore was third with a time of 4:31.52.
In the field events, Ben Boswell was fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.98 meters. In the Shot Put, Creed Wilcox was third with a throw of 11.50 meters. Dylan Wilmes was sixth with a throw of 10.43 meters. The Bluejays placed two in the Discus as Dylan Wilmes was third with a throw of 30.15 meters and Brayden Munns was fifth with a throw of 27.64 meters. Chase Atkins was second in the Javelin with a throw of 37.35 meters.
