Shirley Marie Troutwine, age 81, Grant City, Missouri, formerly of Sheridan, Missouri died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Orilla’s Way Residential Care Facility in Grant City.
Shirley was born July 23, 1937 in Sheridan, Missouri. She was the daughter of H. E. “Jack” and Eva Marie (White) Thummel.
Shirley was united in marriage to Nathan “Junior” Troutwine, September 5, 1953 in Sheridan. To this union three children were born, Mike, Russ and Jill. Shirley always loved her kids through the good times as well as the bad. Her care and concern for all those she knew was evident, always put others before herself. She will always be remembered for her quiet strength, dignity, grace which will continue to inspire her family and others.
Shirley was a member of the Sheridan Christian Church and truly enjoyed the fellowship of the Willing Workers Women’s group of the church.
Shirley enjoyed live country music. She liked listening to Junior and her sons when they played music together.
Some of the things Shirley liked visiting about were, holidays spent with family on the farm, deer season and all it involved and her cooking days for everyone at the Boar’s Nest.
Shirley day was always brightened when she received visits from her grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Junior on June 19, 1999.
Her survivors include: two sons, Mike (Tami) Troutwine, Russ (Debbie) Troutwine and daughter Jill (Nick) Larison, all of Sheridan, Missouri, brother Jack (Ruth Ann) Thummel, Maryville, Missouri, sister Patty (Jack) Fisher, Gaynor, Missouri, ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home in Grant City. Burial will be in the Sheridan Cemetery (Vanskyock Addition), Sheridan.
