Courthouse News for November 7th, 2018

On October 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Phillip Wood (37) of Kansas City alleging 2nd Degree Burglary, two counts Property Damage, Stealing $750 or More, and two counts Tampering with a Motor Vehicle (All Felonies). Bond was set at $40,000.

On October 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Joel Hale (38) of Fairfax alleging 2nd Degree Burglary, two counts Property Damage, Stealing $750 or More, and two counts Tampering with a Motor Vehicle (All Felonies). Bond was set at $40,000.

On October 29, 2018 at around 11:54 pm, Taylor Sue Schaffer, age 26 of Mount Ayr was operating a motor vehicle while having a suspended driving license according to the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department. She was arrested and charged with the above listed charge and transported to the Ringgold County Sheriffs Office.

On October 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Randy Redden (38) of Stanberry alleging No Financial Responsibility.

On October 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Courtney Mitchell (18) of Plattsburg alleging No Financial Responsibility.

On October 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Jason Larson (44) of Hopkins alleging No Financial Responsibility.

On October 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Zachary Horton (21) of Kansas City alleging No Financial Responsibility.

On October 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Ronald Scott Erickson (57) of Westboro alleging No Financial Responsibility.

Robert Klampe, 59, of Bedford was arrested in the 1500 block of Highway 2 by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department on October 30. Klampe was charged with Public Intoxication (2nd or Subsequent Offense). He is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $2,000 bond.

On October 30th, Gentry County Assistant Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Joshua Wilson (34) of Albany alleging Driving While Revoked and Failure to Stop.

On October 30th, Gentry County Assistant Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Samuel Moore (29) of New Hampton alleging Passing Bad Checks.

On October 30th, Gentry County Assistant Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Brandin Bell (21) of Platte City alleging Failure to Signal, Driving While Revoked, two counts Minor Visibly Intoxicated, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On October 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Kurtis Hiles (27) of Clarinda alleging Passing a Bad Check.

On October 31st, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Clint Lewis (26) of New Hampton alleging Domestic Assault (Felony).

On November 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Jeffrey O’Neal (44) of Bethany alleging Failure to Comply with Halloween Restrictions for Sex Offenders.

On November 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Ronald Ury (51) of Eagleville alleging Resisting Arrest by Fleeing (Felony).

On November 4th, Maggie Ueligger pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of an Equipment Violation. She was assessed $196 in fines and costs by Judge Joel Miller.

On November 4th, Judge Joel Miller released Dylan Hastings on a $5,000 bond on his own recognizance. Hastings is facing charges of 2nd Degree Burglary of a house in Sheridan and Property Damage of over $500. He must reside in Clarinda and may not enter Worth County except for court appearances.

On November 4th, Kenny Farmer failed to appear on charges in five different cases. Judge Joel Miller issued warrants in the cases for a combined total of $1,140.50, cash only.

On November 4th, Josh Minnick failed to appear, and his signature bond was revoked by Judge Joel Miller. A warrant was issued with bond of $5,000, cash or corporate surety, set.

On November 4th, Truman Moore (21) of Grant City pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Careless & Imprudent Driving. He was assessed $732.50 in fines and court costs. All other charges were dismissed.

On November 4th, Tim Rippy pleaded guilty to Failure to Stop and No Insurance. He was assessed $226 in fines and costs.

On November 5th, Gentry County Prosecutor David B. Parman filed charges against Timothy Sweat (26) of Albany alleging Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On November 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Tyler Randolph (17) of Ravenwood alleging Assault.

On November 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Brandon Dinh (18) of Maryville alleging Possession of Marijuana.

On November 5th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Torey Weingrad (26) of Maryville alleging Possession of Marijuana and Stealing.

To better serve our most vulnerable citizens, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office announced on its Facebook page that it is hosting a special training for law enforcement titled, “Responding to Child Abuse, Sexual Assault, and Domestic Assault Cases Involving Children,” beginning at 1:00 PM, on November 28, 2018. It will be held at the Nodaway County Administration Building. Officers will receive 3 hours of POST approved technical studies. The training will be conducted by Trenny Wilson who is a forensic interviewer at “Voices of Courage Children’s Advocacy Center.” She has received over 1800 hours of specialized training in forensic interviewing of children, sexual assault and child abuse investigations, interviewing and interrogations, evidence collections and other law enforcement related areas. Trenny worked for the St. Joseph, MO Police Department for 22 years before retiring in August 2015. She worked for 18 ½ years in the Family Crimes Unit, with 15 ½ of those years investigating crimes against children and the last 3 years investigating domestic assault cases. During her time in detectives, she conducted forensic interviews for 18 ½ years, and has conducted over 3000 forensic interviews.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
