Road to State Title Goes Through Stanberry Again

The road to a state title will go through Stanberry again for Worth County, as the district assignments were very similar to last year. MSHSAA has started doing them annually, instead of every other year like they have in the past.

There will be 23 teams in eight man football this year instead of 24. Sacred Heart, the team which Worth County played last year at state, dropped football. Greenfield went back to 11 man football, while Orrick dropped from 11 to 8 man.

The following assignments were made:
District 1 – Albany, North/West Nodaway, Rock Port, Stanberry, East Atchison, and Worth County.
District 2 – DeKalb, Mound City, North Andrew, South/Nodaway Holt, Platte Valley, and St. Joseph Christian.
District 3 – Braymer, King City, North Shelby, Pattonsburg, Southwest Livingston, and Stewartsville.
District 4 – Chilhowee, Norborne, Northwest Hughesville, Orrick, and Osceola.
