Meggan Brown won over Ashley Rush by one vote in the GOP Primary in the Recorder of Deeds Race. She got 225 votes to Rush’s 224. She will face off against incumbent Barb Foland in the November election. The votes took an unusually long time to come in for a primary election, with the results not coming in until 9:15 pm.
In the other surprise, the Right to Work law failed in Worth County with 282 “Yes” votes to 288 “No” votes. The vote followed the statewide trend, with the Right to Work Law going down to defeat with 173,614 yes votes to 276,383 no votes with 1,201 of 3,228 precincts reporting as of 9:30 pm Tuesday night.
In the Presiding Commissioner’s Race, Jubal Summers won the GOP race with 285 votes to 121 for Dan Findley and 54 for Payton Whitworth. He will face off against Dan Parman, who was unopposed.
Statewide, incumbent Claire McCaskill won handily in the Senator’s race, as did Attorney General Josh Hawley on the GOP side. Worth County followed the statewide trend. Henry Robert Martin won the Democratic 6th District Race, but Worth County voters preferred Winston Apple, who had 38 votes to 33 for Martin and 22 for Ed Andres. Martin faces Sam Graves.
