Worth County’s boys won the Mound City meet Friday, while the girls were edged out by one point against a loaded field Friday. The boys had 123 team points to lead the pack. Mound City had 90, East Atchison 78, South/Nodaway-Holt 73, Stanberry 61, Platte Valley 55, Rock Port 33, St. Joseph Christian 31, NEN 28, and North/West Nodaway 14. For the girls, Mound City had 92 team points. Worth County had 91, Stanberry 81, Rock Port 75, Platte Valley 64, St. Joseph Christian 51, DeKalb 37.5, East Atchison 31, NEN 27, South/Nodaway-Holt 19.5, Osborn 9, Tri-County 5, and North/West Nodaway 4.
For the girls, Braidy Hunt was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:42.12. Anna Gladstone won handily in the 100 Hurdles, getting a season best time of 16.07 and beating her nearest rival by almost 1.2 seconds. Gladstone was edged out again by Abbe Hale (Rock Port) in the 300 Hurdles, getting second. However, she got a personal best time of 49.78. Morgan Beagle was fifth with a time of 55.20.
The 4x100 team of Liz Lyle, Morgan Beagle, Jessi Badell, and Megan Cassavaugh was fourth with a time of 55.78. The 4x400 team of Kristin New, Jill Hardy, Braidy Hunt, and Jessi Badell was fourth with a time of 4:58.20. The 4x800 team of Kristin New, Braidy Hunt, Allison Larison, and Megan Cassavaugh got a personal best time in the event and finished third with a time of 1:01.99.
Anna Gladstone returned to the High Jump after running the 100 in Stanberry Wednesday; she got a third place finish and matched a season best with a jump of 5 feet. Jessi Badell was second in the Pole Vault with a height of 8’6, getting a personal best. Keelin Engel matched a personal best with a third place vault of 8 feet. Anna Gladstone was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’7½”. Liz Lyle was fourth in the Long Jump with a jump of 32’3”. Jill Hardy was sixth with a jump of 29’½”.
Merrideth Spiers won both her throwing events. She won the Shot Put with a throw of 34’6½”. She also won the Discus with a throw of 117’4”. Kennedy Galanakis was fifth with a throw of 93 feet.
For the boys, Jaxon Anderson was fourth in the 100 with a time of 12.13. Caleb Parman was sixth in the 200 with a time of 25.27. Wayde Parman was fourth in the 400 with a time of 58.47. Daniel Craven was third in the 3200 with a time of 12:01.02. Bryant McCord won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.84. He was third in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 43.43.
The 4x100 team of Andrew Alarcon, Tevin Cameron, Caleb Parman, and Bryant McCord won with a time of 46.57. The 4x200 team of Andrew Alarcon, Tevin Cameron, Ryan McClellan, and Bryant McCord was second, knocking three seconds off their time and getting 1:37.18.
Nate Adwell was fourth in the Pole Vault with a vault of 11’6”. The Tigers were 2-3 in the Long Jump as Caleb Parman was second with a jump of 19’5 and Tevin Cameron was third with 19’2”.
Jaxon Anderson was third in the Triple Jump with a jump of 39’8”. Caleb Parman was fourth with a jump of 39’2½”.
The Tigers won all three of the throwing events. Drake Kinsella won the Shot Put with a throw of 42’8½”. Mason Hawk was second with a throw of 41’10”. In the Discus, Drake Kinsella won with a throw of 122’10”. Mason Hawk was fourth with a throw of 114’4”. Tevin Cameron broke the school record in the Javelin that was set this year by teammate Jacob New. He won with a throw of 144’9”, eclipsing New’s mark of 143’7”. New was fourth with a throw of 122’3”.
