Paige West broke the NEN School Record in the Long Jump Friday at the Panther Relays in Mound City. Northeast Nodaway had 27 team points on the girls side and 28 more on the boys side that day.
In the event, West beat her personal best mark by 2 feet and won with a jump of 16’10”, beating out Anna Gladstone (Worth County), who had 16’7½”, along with Marissa Jensen (Stanberry), at 16’3”. The old mark was held by teammate Brea Coulter, who got a jump of 16’9” last year.
West was also fourth in the 100 Hurdles, getting a personal best time of 17.59. She was third in the 300 Hurdles, coming close to a personal best with a time of 53.74.
The 4x200 team of Zayla Carlson, Saige Kohlleppel, Angela Standiford, and Victoria Moran was sixth with a personal best time of 2:03.93. Madelynn Mattson got a personal best in the Shot Put by over four feet, getting a third place finish of 32’5½”.
For the boys, Dylan Mildfeldt continued to win in the 100, getting a time of 11.50. Nathan Schieber was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:21.56.
The 4x100 team of Ethan Adwell, Dylan Mildfeldt, Nathan Schieber, and Brayden Welch was fifth with a time of 48.85.
Ethan Adwell was fifth in the High Jump with a height of 5’6”. Colton Wilmes was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 40’9½”. Wilmes was second in the Discus with a throw of 118’7”. Wilmes was also sixth in the Javelin with a throw of 114’5”.
