North Harrison’s boys won the third conference title of the year for the school, winning the HDC Meet Wednesday. Previously, the girls softball team and girls basketball team won it. The boys got 98 team points to win the meet. Winston had 95, Newtown-Harris 77, Gilman City 32, North Daviess 31, East Harrison 30, Grundy County 28, and Mercer 23. The girls finished third. East Harrison ran away with the girls title, getting 144 points, getting the first-ever title as a cooperative. Tri-County got 99, North Harrison 76, Grundy County 56, Winston 34, Newtown-Harris 28, and Gilman City 18.
For the girls, Payton Craig was fifth in the 200 with a time of 31.84. Vici Stellpflug was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:16.90. Mardee Sadowsky was second in the 800 with a time of 2:51.43; Sadowsky won the 1600 with a time of 6:36.25.
The 4x400 team of Vici Stellpflug, Mardee Sadowsky, Emma Craig, and Payton Craig won with a time of 5:38.34.
Sadowsky was sixth in the High Jump with a height of 4 feet. Vici Stellpflug was sixth in the Long Jump with a jump of 10’9”. Payton Craig won the Triple Jump with a jump of 29’5”.
In the Shot Put, Emma Craig was second with a throw of 30’2”. She was also second in the Discus with a throw of 83’3”. Payton Craig continued to dominate the Javelin, getting a winning throw of 110’9”.
For the boys, Connor Stobbe got a personal best and a second place finish in the 100 with a time of 12.43. The Shamrocks placed two in the 200 as Ethan Valenti won with a time of 25.15, while Connor Stobbe was third with a time of 26.46. Cameron Hamaker was second in the 400 with a time of 59.89. Hamaker was second in the 800 with a time of 2:26.93. Gavin Garrett was third in the 1600 with a time of 5:22.37.
The 4x200 team of Ethan Valenti, Connor Stobbe, Cameron Hamaker, and Logan Huitt won with a time of 1:49.10. The 4x800 team of Cameron Hamaker, Bobby Hutton, Gavin Garrett, and Skyler Todd was second with a time of 12:06.28.
Ethan Valenti was second in the High Jump with a leap of 4’11”. Connor Stobbe was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’10½”. Skyler Todd was third in the Triple Jump with a leap of 31’3”. Gavin Garrett won the Discus with a throw of 117’8”.
