A Grant City man was seriously injured in an accident on Route 31 Thursday afternoon near Clarksdale. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2002 Ford F-150 driven by George Young (86) of Grant City was southbound on 31 at around 1:45 in the afternoon. The Patrol says he traveled off the west side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, crossed the center line on an uneven newly paved roadway, overcorrected, traveled off the west side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned several times, struck a fence, and came to rest off the west side of 31. He was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
