Worth County’s boys won their home meet Thursday, while the girls were third again behind Rock Port and Albany.
For the girls, the pattern is clear – if both Rock Port and Albany are at the meet, the Tigers finish third. But if Worth County and Albany or Worth County and Rock Port go head to head, then the Tigers win. Rock Port won the girls side with 73 points, followed by Albany with 70. Worth County had 55.5, Platte Valley 54, Maysville 48, East Atchison 30.5, Northeast Nodaway 28, Gallatin 25, South Harrison 20, Nodaway/South Holt 20, North/West Nodaway 16, St. Gregory’s 14, King City 8, and Pattonsburg 3.
For the boys, they edged out South Harrison with 77 points to 62 for the Bulldogs. Pattonsburg had 54, North/West Nodaway had 48, Rock Port 45, Nodaway/South Holt 41, East Atchison 39, Albany 34, Platte Valley 24, Maysville 13, Gallatin 13, Northeast Nodaway 8, North Harrison 4, and Stanberry 2.
For the girls, Braidy Hunt posted a personal best in the 800, placing second with a time of 2:37.08.
Morgan Beagle was second in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.08. Jill Hardy was sixth with a time of 19.49.
The 4x400 team of Morgan Beagle, Aivry Griffin, Anna Spainhower, and Keelin Engel was fourth with a time of 57.53. The 4x200 team of Megan Cassavaugh, Morgan Beagle, Keelin Engel, and Aivry Griffin was fifth with a time of 2:03.59.
Aivry Griffin was fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 4’2”.
Keelin Engel won the Pole Vault with a height of 8 feet. Megan Cassavaugh tied for fifth with a height of 6’6”.
The Tigers placed two in the Long Jump. Megan Cassavaugh was third with a jump of 13’2¼”. Allison Larison was fourth with a jump of 13’¾”.
The Tigers placed two in the Triple Jump. Braidy Hunt was fourth with a jump of 29 feet. Jill Hardy was fifth with a jump of 28’6½”.
For the boys, Joey Herron (Rock Port) beat out Andrew Alarcon in the 100 with a time of 12.45 to Alarcon’s 12.52.
Alarcon was third in the 200 with a time of 26.16 and third in the 400 with a time of 1:00.45.
Jace Cousatte was sixth in the 1600 with a time of 5:41.78. He was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.51. Aydan Gladstone was sixth with a time of 19.29.
The 4x200 team of Aydan Gladstone, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Nate Adwell was fifth with a time of 1:55.28. North/West Nodaway had normally won the 4x400 events for the year, but this time, Worth County’s team of Jace Cousatte, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Nate Adwell took 11 seconds off their time in Tarkio and beat them out with a winning time of 4:17.68.
Nate Adwell continued to win the Pole Vault, getting a height of 9’6”. Aydan Gladstone was third with a height of 8’6”.
Andrew Alarcon was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’3”. Alex Rinehart was sixth with a jump of 15’6¼”.
Alex Rinehart was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 33’2½”.
Reid Gabriel was third in the Discus with a throw of 109’10”.
