The spring turkey season begins a half hour before sunrise on April 18 and ends May 8. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds hunters not to forget their turkey permit. Permits can be purchased at MDC nature centers, regional offices, and permit vendors across the state, on MDC's website at mdc.mo.gov/permits, and even on the mobile MO Hunting app, found in the app store.
All turkey hunters, including landowners and lessees, must have a valid turkey hunting permit before hunting. If you are unsure if you qualify for a landowner's permit, MDC encourages you to take the new landowner qualifications quiz found on MDC's website athttp://on.mo.gov/263VZwu.
Find detailed information on harvest limits, allowed hunting methods, hunter education requirements, permits, MDC hunting areas, tagging and checking procedures, regulations and more in MDC's 2016 Spring Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information booklet available at places where permits are sold and online at http://on.mo.gov/1R3JTbH.
