The Nodaway County Area Retired School Employees (NCARSE) met April 7, 2016, at the Nodaway County Senior Center, Maryville. Margaret Drew and Kay Nicholas were the greeters. Hospitality was provided by Linda Akins and Donna Christensen.
The program was given by the Maryville High School Debate Class instructed by Trudy Kinman; she once taught at Northeast Nodaway and her husband, Marlin, was the principal. Students presenting were Hannah Townsend and Emily Gascoigne, Duo Interpretation; Alannah Erickson, Poetry Interpretation; and Kelly Phillips, Storytelling.
Sue Schenkel and Jane Walter reported on the Unit Presidents’ Summit held in Jefferson City March 15 and 16. One idea taken from the Summit was to create a Facebook page for the Unit for the purpose of communication. Sue and Jane will have three training sessions to help in the development of the Facebook page.
The next meeting will be May 5, 2016. The program will be presented by the Maryville High School Spectrum Show Choir, directed by Vanessa Parsons.
