Weed Emergence Models on Horizon Point

Horizon Point is an educational program of the University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program. It is designed to make precise weather information available to growers. Site-specific weather reports and advisories are sent out via email.

A grower came into the office asking about waterhemp emergence.  There is a model that predicts waterhemp and other weed species emergence at this web site. This should aid growers when to apply herbicides for waterhemp and for other control.

There are other advisories included at the site such as planting depth soil temperature.  You can sign up for this free advisory service at HorizonPoint@missouri.edu.
