King City Person Wins National Competition for DAR

Marilyn Rainey, King City, a member of the Virginia Daughters Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has won in the national competition for her china painting.  Last year Marilyn placed 1st in national and this year she has won third place with her patriotic plate. Mrs. Rainey will receive a certificate from the Continental Congress held at the Constitution Hall in Washington DC the first of July for her participation in the American Heritage contest. Earlier this month Marilyn was asked to display her china painting at the 113th  Annual Conference of the MO State Society.  Mrs. Rainey is shown in the photo  with her display in Columbia, MO. The National Winner is the triangular shaped  plate. The local chapter and all Missouri chapters are proud of Marilyn and her talents.
