Doin' God's Work for May 23rd, 2012

A beautiful week to be outside in God’s garden. It always helps to keep a song in my heart, so I think of “In the Garden” and the communication with God and our world around us. Means of communication have changed a lot in recent years. I see the art of communication is failing when our youth text within the same walls! We lose contact with facial expressions when we text. Short cuts may save time, but let us NEVER text God. HE desires and deserves our FULL attention.
Wednesday, 6 p.m., we congregated in His house to encourage, pray for others, and sing praises for His wondrous miracles. Our sympathy to the family of Judy Branham. May she be resting at the feet of Jesus. She left our community a better place just by knowing her. She will be sadly missed.
Pastor Sue needs our prayers as she continues to serve God to her best ability. Retirement from the pulpit begins the last week in June. One can never completely retire from serving God. One just finds a different venue to serve. May God guide her feet and comfort her through this illness.
Ascension Sunday, Tim had a good message on becoming a chosen disciple. Let’s communicate with God often to seek His will for us. How may we become the disciple He created in us?
God bless you this week as we harvest hay crops and lead others to know God’s love. See you in church!
