The Heart of America Tractor Club will be hosting their 7th annual tractor cruise for charity June 23, 2012. This year, the featured tractor will be the Minneapolis Moline. This year, the tractors will travel through the communities of Bedford, Conception, Guilford, Barnard, and Maryville. The cruise will begin and end on the campus of Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. There will be a morning break at the Conception Abbey with a tour for those interested. Lunch will be enjoyed at the old Barnard Picnic Grounds in Barnard. This will be a fundraising opportunity for the South Nodaway FFA. The afternoon break will be at The Bistro. The public is invited to eat there for a free will donation as well. This year, the drivers will be raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Camp, Camp Encourage, the Special Olympics, and the Abrielle Neff Foundation.
The tractors can be registered and left on Friday evening starting at 4 at the pavilion on the west side of campus. The Gentry County Cattlemen’s Association will be preparing a tenderloin supper available to any and everyone for a free will donation. The meal will start at 5. The Pride Lions Group will begin serving a pancake and sausage breakfast at 6:00 Saturday morning before the cruise. The registration table will be open at that time for late comers. The breakfast is open to the public for a freewill donation as well. Saturday evening, there will be a pulled pork supper open to the public and free to the drivers. The supper will include homemade ice cream. There will also be an auction of a beautiful handmade quilt and other items. The club is raffling off a very hard to find Minneapolis Moline pedal tractor. There will also be t-shirts and caps for sale. For more information, call (816) 244-1785 or visit us on our webpage.
