Letter to the Editor -- Graves' special interests, Teachers for Kay

Letters to the Editor are the opinions of the writers and do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the owners or editor of the Sheridan Express.

I do not have a hard time making up my mind about the congressional race between Kay Barnes and Sam Graves. I have witnessed first hand how devious and outrageous the Graves campaign has been in obtaining and trying to keep office.
Kay Barnes will bring integrity and responsibility to Washington. She will listen to constituents and will not be swayed by the pharmaceutical, oil and big business lobbies.

I am writing to applaud Congressional candidate Kay Barnes on standing up for Missouri's teachers. The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) has made it more difficult for our schools and teachers to give young people a high quality education. Unfortunately, Washington has done little to help.
As a parent and former teacher, Kay Barnes is a strong advocate for Missouri teachers. She listened to us, and has called on Congress to suspend NCLB's penalties to schools until Congress fixes this flawed legislation.
I speak on behalf of teachers around the 6th Congressional District who support Kay's candidacy. She is the independent voice we need to clean up the mess in Washington.
