County Commission Minutes for June 2nd, 2008

Meeting was called to order at 9:00 am by Presiding Commissioner. Members present: Mozingo, Calhoon and Waldeier.
1. Commissioner Calhoon made a motion to approve the May 27th minutes as read. Commissioner Waldeier seconded. Motion carried.
2. Commissioner Calhoon made a motion to approve the agenda. Commissioner Waldeier seconded. Motion carried.
3. Commissioner Waldeier made a motion to approve and pay bills. Commissioner Calhoon seconded. Motion carried.
4. Linda Brown, County Treasurer gave weekly financial reports.
5. Jim Fletchall, Road and Bridge Supervisor and the Commissioners discussed the mowing; a window was broken by flying rocks. Commissioner Waldeier called Barker Implements and they will modify the mower with a guard to stop the rocks. Barkers’ mechanic will check on the rock problem and check why the center section is not cutting well.
6. Pat Kobbe, Emergency Management Director reported on the emergency supply trailer. The trailer was ordered from Bonnet Trailer in Stewartsville and will be delivered to Red Cross in St. Joseph in approximately two weeks. The County will order signage from First Street Graphics and locks from Sarverino’s locks also in St. Joseph.
7. Commissioner Mozingo reported that the Gravel Tax legislation passed. The Commission discussed running the measure on either the November or April election; this tax is based on agricultural acres only.
8. The Patron Gravel delivery is postponed by one week due to weather problems preventing Wieland Trucking from finishing a prior contract.
